Lorrie Parise, author of the nonfiction book, Biography of an Everyday Couple, has garnered five-star ratings from both Reader’s Favorite® and Writer’s Digest. Having accumulated more than 25 years of experience in marketing, public relations, and community relations, she presently serves as the Director of Public Relations and Community Relations, Houston Region, for Howard Hughes.
Parise’s educational background includes a Master of Arts degree in English-Communications from St. Mary’s University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies from the University of St. Thomas, both within her home state of Texas. Lorrie has received numerous accolades including the 2023 STAR Award for Marketing Professional of the Year from the Texas Association of Builders, the 2017 “Outstanding Involvement in Supporting the Community,” Viva! Award from the United States-Mexico Chamber of Commerce Houston-The Woodlands-Gulf Coast Chapter, and the Publisher’s Club Award from the Houston Chronicle in 1995 and 1996.
Also distinguished as an International Mother’s Day honoree from LCA Houston Magazine, Parise’s Biography of an Everyday Couple focuses on the lives of her parents, Alice and Fidel Flores, individuals who embodied the essence of ordinary, everyday people yet were extraordinary. Set against the backdrop of the charming hometown of Floresville and the urban landscape of Houston, both in Texas, the nonfiction story captures both a touching love story and the heartfelt influence this unassuming couple wielded on those around them. The story also navigates the journey of a family grappling with the raw emotions and challenges of life, drawing them closer together.
Beyond her career and literary pursuits, Lorrie Parise is a musician, songwriter, and singer. She even contributes her own songs to the narrative. Actively involved in the community, Lorrie serves on the Board of Directors for the Montgomery County Hispanic Chamber, The Woodlands Symphony Orchestra and is a 2019 graduate of Leadership Montgomery County. Lorrie hails from a lineage deeply rooted in Texas where she resides along with her three children and three grandchildren.
